Reviews for DO YOU TAKE THIS COP?

Faith Lewis wants two things in life: for her nine-year-old son, Austin, to be happy and safe, and for the two of them to finally have a chance to make a life in Kingsville, Maine. This is much easier said than done however. Faith has been on the run from her husband for a long time. She knows if she is discovered, he will hurt their son again and she will not allow that to happen. Her past has cost Austin enough already. She just wants a normal life and intends to keep a low profile in town.

Cop Nick Coletti knows there is something a little bit off about Faith and her story. His cop instincts are on edge and nothing about her quite adds up. That does not stop him from being attracted to her though, even when it seems like she will never return that attraction. But not even Faith can resist Nick’s affable charm, his positive interactions with her son, and the way he makes her feel alive again. Will her attraction to Nick become her downfall once again?

DO YOU TAKE THIS COP? is a heartwrenching story. Faith has relied on herself for so long that she cannot see or understand Nick’s good intentions at first. He is truly a good man and just wants to help Faith and Austin. Their attraction starts off rocky and is slow to build. However, Beth Andrews does a good job of slowly and steadily building scenes of trust and respect between Nick and Faith, plus between Nick and Austin. This book definitely called for a prolonged sense of trust because Faith did not have any positive examples of trusting men or women.

Nick is not perfect of course, so do not let me fool you. He is impatient, often does not understand Faith, and hates the lies she feeds him. But he is a rock for her when the going gets tough.

DO YOU TAKE THIS COP? is a turbulent love story with some tough relationship obstacles to overcome. But I truly felt by the book’s end that these two were on the right track toward a positive and loving happily-ever-after.  Romance Junkies

Faith Lewis is trying desperately to protect her son and is hoping that she finally found a place to do it. She is working as a hairdresser once again but Austin is ready to do more than sit inside. It’s summer and he wants to get involved in baseball again. The owner of the salon has a brother who coaches and is also a local police officer. He is an incredibly sweet man but she just doesn’t know if she can trust him.

Nick Coletti was thrust in the role of protector in his family at a very young age, helping his mother to raise his younger sisters. He is used to helping women around him and is drawn to Faith and her little boy. Nick also knows though that she is hiding a secret. His initial inclination is to run a background check on her but decides to wait for her to let him into her story. His heart is opening up much quicker than hers is but cracks are starting to show.

Beth Andrews has created a poignant story of a woman trying to trust again. Her little boy is the key to her secret and to her re-opening her heart. Austin is a sweet child who just wants to be normal but has a lot of darkness that he hasn’t dealt with yet. Her heroine is strong and takes care of herself and her son, yet she has a side of her that is very gentle and unsure. Faith is definitely someone a reader can relate to. Nick is that knight in shining armor every woman wants but yet he doesn’t come across as fake. He does everything he can to protect her and be gentle with her but he can also come across with some tough love when it is necessary. When asked the question Do You Take This Cop?, I don’t know how a reader could say no. Once Upon A Romance

Faith Lewis thought she could finally stop running when she started a new life in Kingsville, Maine. She and her nine year old son Austin were making a fresh beginning with new identities, a great job, new school and even a house but Faith didn’t count on her boss’s good looking brother, who just happens to be a cop.

Nick Coletti has a gut reaction about his sister’s new employee; she is intriguing but she is definitely hiding something besides her cute figure behind her baggy clothes and jumpy nerves. Nick wants to help, especially when he senses the problem may center around Austin, but will Faith let him get close enough to accept his help?

DO YOU TAKE THIS COP? is a story that only a talented author like Beth Andrews could write. It takes the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse and shows how far a loving mother will go to protect her child. Ms. Andrews realistically portrays the helplessness and terror of her heroine as she does the best she knows how to keep her son safe, despite mistakes and against huge odds. The hero does not sweep in and rescue the heroine but does give her the support needed to make better choices. DO YOU TAKE THIS COP? is a dark romance with the glimmer of hope growing stronger and brighter. Cataromance
